I offer skin checks to help detect and for management of skin cancers early. In Australia we have one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world.
I can provide diagnosis and treatment for acne, rosacea, rashes, allergic and infectious skin conditions, eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis and other skin issues. I refer to dermatologists where appropriate.
I can carry out routine full skin checks or examine individual skin lesions that you may be concerned about. I use a dermatoscope to examine skin lesions. I can refer to appropriate treating doctors for treatment of skin cancers.
It is important to have a skin check for early detection of skin cancers, to identify suspicious moles, spots, or lesions by using a thorough, systematic approach to assess your skin health.
During a Skin Check we discuss any concerns, your skin cancer history, changes in moles and family history. After this I carry out a comprehensive skin check from head to toe, performed in a private, respectful environment. I refer to other doctors or specialists for biopsy and treatment.
If you have a family or personal history of skin cancer, if you have fair skin, freckles, or high sun exposure or if you notice any changes in moles, spots, or skin texture, then you should have a skin check.
